INSTITUTE OF ROAD AND TRANSPORT TECHNOLOGY
The Institute Of Road and Transport Technology (IRTT) was established in the year 1984. It is run by All Transport Corporations of Government of TamilNadu. The Institute is located in a sprawling lush green campus of 350 acres. It provides a congenial atmosphere for Technical Education. It is 15 km from Erode Railway Station and Half a km from the NH-47 between Bhavani and Chithode. The Institute offers 7 Under Graduate Degree courses in Engineering in various disciplines and 2 post graduate courses M.E Structural Engineering and Master of Computer Applications. The Institute has excellent infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, library and highly qualified faculty members. The Institute is well known for its technical excellence, modern facilities, good performance track record and resourcefulness.
DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
The history of the department
dates back to 1986 with intake 30 when it was functioning with the department
of Electrical Sciences. In the year 1994, Electrical and
Electronics Engineering Department was started with the strength of 45 and
the intake was increased to 60 and the current strength is 66 with 10% of the
total strength as the lateral entry. The department is headed by
Dr.R.Anita with 23 years of teaching experience and specialized in the
area of Drives and control. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is a challenging, dynamic and
broad discipline that is expanding rapidly thanks to new methodologies,
technologies and societal needs.
A sneak peak view of ELIXIR
ELIXIR was organized by the Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers annually is a prestigious event that strives to help the students attain the level of technical awareness and overall competence to become a complete Engineers. ELIXIR implies not only enlightens the young minds but also will continue to spread the light of knowledge throughout. This is the twelfth year that ELIXIR has been organized. ELIXIR-99 was a”Bharathiyar university” level technical symposium which was well received. The success of ELIXIR-99 did greatly encouraged us to which saw splendid response invigorated spirits to organize ELIXIR-2001 & ELIXIR-2002 which attracted numerous participants from all over the country. The symposium had highly relevant topics for paper presentation. There were also exquisite cultural programmes and excellent guest lectures.
The information revolution that we are currently experiencing will bring about the convergence of Computer Science, Electronics and communications. In such a scenario, students need to know about the latest in the entire field and hence the paper titles and sessions have been chosen accordingly for ELIXIR-2003. ELIXIR-2003 was held on 18th and 19th September 2003.
ELIXIR 2006 went off in flying colors. It was organized on Oct 5th and 6th. Participants appeared from all over the country. With praiseworthy efforts from the staff members to students, ELIXIR 06/07/08/09/10 became a great success. ELIXIR 2005 is a milestone in ELIXIR history. The latest technologies in Electrical and Electronics are brought out in ELIXIR-2005 which was held on sep 22nd and 23rd.
In a nutshell, the key idea behind the symposium is to make ELIXIR a practical platform for the students to expand their horizons. We had pleasure working for it. And we strongly believe that ELIXIR 2k11 will serve as the Amborisa of Knowledge.
